Setup

How each one connects

Each works from a link you paste in the app, under Integrations. No apps to approve.

  • Email

    Everyone. On from the start.

    1. Nothing to set up: new results go to the address you sign up with.
    2. Prefer another channel? Switch email off in Integrations at any time.

  • Slack

    Teams that already talk in Slack.

    1. Go to api.slack.com/apps, choose Create New App, then From scratch, and pick your workspace.
    2. Open Incoming Webhooks and switch it on.
    3. Choose Add New Webhook, pick the channel and allow it.
    4. Copy the Webhook URL and paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.

  • Discord

    Communities and small teams on Discord.

    1. Open Server Settings, then Integrations.
    2. Choose Webhooks, then New Webhook, and pick the channel.
    3. Choose Copy Webhook URL and paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.

    You need permission to manage webhooks on that server.

  • Microsoft Teams

    Companies on Microsoft 365.

    1. In Teams, open the channel, choose More options (...) and then Workflows.
    2. Pick the template that posts to a channel when a webhook request is received.
    3. Name it, confirm the team and channel, and finish.
    4. Copy the URL Teams shows and paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.

  • Google Chat

    Teams on Google Workspace.

    1. Open the space and click its name at the top.
    2. Choose Apps & integrations, then Add webhooks.
    3. Name it Byline Leads, save, and copy the webhook URL.
    4. Paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.

    Webhooks in Google Chat need a Google Workspace account.

  • Mattermost

    Teams that run their own chat server.

    1. In Mattermost, open the product menu, then Integrations, then Incoming Webhooks.
    2. Choose Add Incoming Webhook, pick the channel and save.
    3. Copy the URL and paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.

    Your Mattermost server must be reachable from the internet over https.

  • Phone push

    A push notification on your phone, free.

    1. Install the free ntfy app on your phone (Android or iPhone).
    2. In Byline Leads, add Phone push: we suggest a long random topic name so nobody can guess it.
    3. Subscribe to that topic in the ntfy app, then press Send test.

    Anyone who knows a topic name on ntfy.sh can read it, so keep it to yourself. Running your own ntfy server? Use its topic URL instead.

  • RSS feed

    Feed readers, and tools that check a URL.

    1. In Integrations, choose Get a feed URL for a tracker.
    2. Add the private address to your feed reader. It lists the newest 50 results.

    Anyone with the address can read the feed. Make a new one at any time, and the old one stops working at once.

  • Zapier, Make, n8n

    Automations, spreadsheets, CRMs or your own code.

    1. Create a webhook trigger: Webhooks by Zapier (Catch Hook), a Custom webhook in Make, or a Webhook node set to POST in n8n.
    2. Copy its URL and paste it in Byline Leads under Integrations.
    3. Press Send test, so your tool receives an example to map fields from.
    4. Optional: check the X-BylineLeads-Signature header with the signing secret we show once.

What arrives

One message per batch of new results

Each result with its platform, title, the search and rank it was found for, and a link to read it and its reply in the app.

  • Per tracker

    Send every tracker to a channel, or only the ones you pick.

  • Send test

    Every channel has a Send test button, so you see a message before real results arrive.

  • Paused, not lost

    If a channel fails 5 times in a row we pause it and email you. Your results stay in the app.

  • Only to you

    We send messages to you. Nothing is ever posted to your accounts on any platform.
